Attainment

No Key Stage assessments took place in July 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Assessments have also been cancelled in 2021.

Goodnestone CE Primary School has very small year groups.

Year 1 Phonics Test
At the end of Year 1 pupils take a phonic test to assess if they have achieved an expected level of phonic understanding. The expected standard is to score 32 or greater out of 40.

In 2019 100% of pupils reached the expected standard.

4 Pupils in Year 2 were eligible for re-screening. 75% have now achieved the expected standard.

Key Stage 1 Teacher Assessments
At the end of Key Stage 1 pupils are teacher assessed against National curriculum criteria.

In 2019 33% met the expected standard in reading; 67% met the expected standard in writing; 50% met the expected standard in mathematics.

Key Stage 2 SATs
At the end of Key Stage 2 pupils are tested and teacher assessed against National Curriculum criteria. This year our writing teacher assessments were externally moderated.

In 2019 63% met the expected standard in reading; 63% met the expected standard in writing; 63% met the expected standard in mathematics . 63% of pupils met the expected or above standard in reading, writing and mathematics. 50% achieved expected or above in grammar, spelling and punctuation. 13% met the greater depth standard in reading, writing, mathematics or grammar, punctuation and spelling but no-one met the standard in all areas.

The average scaled score in reading was 100, in grammar, punctuation and spelling 95 and in mathematics 99.

Progress scores in reading was -2, writing -0.2 and in mathematics -3.6.
